A Quick Look Ahead to the Upcoming Championship and Football League Seasons
The domestic season gets underway soon in England and
Scotland, with Blackburn and Cardiff kicking off their 2014-15 campaigns today.
This will be the first in a staggering 1,671 matches to be
played across the Football League’s trio of 24-team divisions, which will draw to a close next May.
More stats? Why not?! A whopping 15.7 million of you
attended Football League games last season. We tried to find out how many pies
had been consumed, but couldn't get on your mitts on a number. So we’re gonna
go out on a limb and say ‘lots’. Probably.
Despite having only eight players and no goalkeeper as
recently as July, Blackpool will lock horns with Nottingham Forest in Reds boss
Stuart Pearce’s first match. Other upcoming highlights include Ipswich v.
Fulham, Wigan v Reading, and Sheffield United v Bristol City.
