The hosts went toe-to-toe with Croatia last night and despite a disastrous snafu early on, managed to emerge victorious, beating the Croatians 3-1.

England fans will already be looking ahead to Saturday night, when the Lions take to the pitch against Italy for their opening game. Hodgson has counselled caution ahead of the match, warning that his inexperienced new players might need a few matches under their belts before they get their heads in the game. Still, there will be plenty of big names to help them along, including Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard.
